Don’t forget $1 flip flops at Old Navy this Saturday, June 29th!
Every year, either in the spring or at the beginning of summer I go in for a short-to-medium haircut. A couple of years ago, during a particular scorching Texas summer, I ended up with super short hair. Like really really short! I have been trying to grow my hair out ever since!
As my hair gets longer, I start to get bored with it. It starts to look really flat, making my face look rounder. So, I thought maybe give bangs a try? I’ve always heard adding some fringe is an easy way to change-up your look. Even though I love the look of blunt bangs, I just don’t think I could pull them off. Plus, the last time I had a blunt fringe was when I was like seven. I did some research and found out side-swept bangs would probably work the best on my round face. Several years back, I had long side-swept bangs but had a hard time keeping up with them. My hair would just not cooperate when I would try to style them. And then there was that time I cut my own bangs, that was just so not a good idea. I had to keep them clipped back and wait for them to grow out.
You can see why I kept going back and forth on whether I should get bangs. Then I remembered, I am turning 30 in August. Maybe I should go for it and let it be the last “risky” hair decision I make in my 20’s?! And if they look horrible, maybe they would look better by August? This time, I would go to a professional.
Here I am before bangs (I went out for the day without sunscreen, bad idea):
And here I am with short side-swept bangs!
I love them! They are so easy to style and give me that change I so needed.
If you are looking for a change in hairstyle–why not try a side-swept fringe this summer?
This year, one of my goals was to try a daring lip color…like a fuchsia pink! I usually opt for ChapStick or a safe mauvish lip color. However, I was ready for a pop of color!
I found Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Pearl Fuchsia Fusion (#657) at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I had looked at other places such as Target and Sephora but had not really seen a pink that I wanted to try. I was at BB&B looking for something else when I found Revlon’s fuchsia pink lip color. Since it was less than $5, I though I would go ahead and give it a try. And I was pleasantly surprised by how well it looked on my skin tone. It’s not too bright and it gives me just the perfect amount of fuchsia pink.
I am not that great at taking selfies, in fact I am not a big fan of taking pictures of myself at all. But hopefully, this picture helps in deciding if this lipstick is one that you want to try.
Maybe, I’ll try a red lip color next…
If given the opportunity, what brand would I like to collaborate with? That is what the IBF Project 101 is all about.
KATE SPADE! I have loved her ever since I spotted the lovely Kate Spade fine china. It left me breathless. I was in college, at the mall with friends, when suddenly I was drawn to this wonderful piece of art…china plates! I was in love. Up to this point, I had not given china a second thought. I had always found china boring and antiquated. There was just something so modern, so sophisticated about the Kate Spade china. I have been dreaming of it ever since then. I can just imagine all of the glamorous sit-down dinner parties I could be throwing, if only I owned the Kate Spade Larabee Road collection.
I discovered my love for Kate Spade with a china plate, but fell more in love as I discovered her other works of art. I am salivating just thinking of the gorgeous handbags. The simple, yet fabulous pieces of clothing. The uniquely charming accessories. The ever so chic shoes. Everything she comes out with, I automatically love!
Kate Spade is simple but classy, modern but sophisticated and the definition of effortless chic…pretty much what I want to be. If Audrey Hepburn were still living, I strongly believe she would be walking around in Kate Spade.
How exactly could we collaborate, Kate Spade? Well, I have noticed some of your handbags come in different sizes. Which is great for someone who is petite, like me. I would love to model handbags perfect for petite fashionistas. Or how about we collaborate on petite sizes for your clothing? As you do not yet carry petite sizes. I really just want to work with you on anything!! You want me to model handbags, clothes, earrings, china? I am up for it!
So Kate Spade…CALL ME? Maybe?
